I’m a December baby, which after about the age of 10 has been quite frustrating. Between being sick, snow and inclement weather (I was raised in the bone chilling hills of Northwest Arkansas), Christmas being 2 weeks after my birthday (“Happy Birthday/Christmas, Addie!”), and me loathing the cold – celebrating my birthday is always interesting. I make a big deal about it and go all out with a large group outing to a restaurant, but I’ve yet to have a warm weather style birthday celebration (for obvious reasons).
But, oh baby, Farmers Branch, TX has a new aquatic center with so many indoor activities! They have a full schedule of classes for diverse age groups and swimming levels, and best of all, they offer parties year-round. With their party room, after hour reservations, and around the clock life guard services, the party potentials are pretty awesome.
I visited the Farmers Branch Aquatic Center with fellow blogger Ginger of the Ginger Marie Blog (see why she’s at the pool this winter here), and we were greeted with such kindness when we first walked through the door. After being guided around the facility and learning about their amenities, I tested the water. Toes only, I couldn’t get my hair wet. It was nice and warm, though, so I loved it! While a summer party after hours would be amazing to have here, I’m so thankful for their indoor amenities, giving winter babies like myself hope that the cold weather and big holidays won’t ruin our birthdays while we’re in the middle of Texas, in the middle of winter.
Whether its your birthday, a holiday, or just a celebration for no reason at all, doesn’t it just sound so fun and rebellious to have a winter pool party? What would you do at your own winter pool party?
