Little Boo’s 4th Annual Fundraiser to Plant Trees

It’s that time again, family!

Each year we (Addie & Josh – Little Boo’s parents) set a goal to raise money to plant trees for Little Boo’s birthday. He’s finally old enough to have discussions about it, and we’re so excited to explain it to him in more detail. We hope he will continue this fundraiser when he becomes a grown man and that he will go on to start and participate in other philanthropic endeavors throughout his life.

4th Annual Tree Fundraiser

Fundraiser Goals

For Little Boo’s 1st birthday, we raised about $150 through One Tree Planted. For his 2nd birthday, we raised $20 through One Tree Planted. The third year, our community raised $161 through Trees For The Future because their program can plant several trees per dollar! Our goal is always $100 x Little Boo’s age, so this year, we hope to raise $400!

Little Boo is turning 4, so the goal for this year’s fundraiser is $400. Please donate and share this fundraiser to help us reach that goal for the families who benefit from and plant trees through Trees For The Future!

Why we donate through Trees For The Future

Trees for the Future - plant treesTrees for the Future - plant trees

Donating to Trees for the Future does more than simply plant trees. The approach they take helps farmers and their families through the Forest Garden Programs in Cameroon, Kenya, Senegal, Uganda, Guinea and Tanzania. Through this program, people learn regenerative farming practices, barren land is revitalized, trees are planted, and a family’s life is changed for the better. Per the TREES website:

The Forest Garden Program is a simple, replicable and scalable approach with proven success.  We train farmers over a four year period to sustainably revitalize their land. We provide all of the training, seeds, tools, and materials. The farmers come prepared with their own land and ready to change their family’s life. Through our Forest Garden Approach, farmers plant thousands of trees that protect and bring nutrients back to the soil. This helps farmers grow a variety of fruits and vegetables. Forest Garden farmers gain increases in income and food security, even in the first year.

The fundraiser will be live through the end of September, so there is plenty of time to donate. I will also share updates & reminders throughout that time in hopes that we can raise $400 for Trees For The Future during Little Boo’s 4th Annual Fundraiser to Plant Trees!

What a cool way to celebrate your child’s birthday! It’s such a good way to teach a child that they are on earth to help others. And, while we can celebrate our birthdays, it’s important that we also always help others. Love it! Way to go, mom & dad!

What a great organization but more importantly, what a great tradition you are developing for him and for your family. Good luck hitting the goal!
