This morning I woke up early (or so I thought) so that I could have a mini spa treatment before I went into full mom mode. I wanted to take time to apply my new TruSelf Organics detoxifying clay mask, do my hair, which usually takes hours, and I’m still not done styling it as I’m writing this… and I wanted to just relax. The next time you have a moment of freedom during your little one’s nap, you should try this nap time beauty regimen, too!
Natural & DIY Beauty Routines
I cut 3 lemons, squeezed the juice out of them, and then mixed it with salt, water, and apple cider vinegar. I applied this mixture to my scalp to get rid of all of the itching I’ve been dealing with lately. Then I hopped in the shower, used my natural bar of soap and my simple, fragrance free shampoo from Whole Foods. I tried to do all this natural living beauty routine in solitude before Greyson woke up, but that didn’t work. So, this nap time spa day is actually a “Netflix time” spa day. He took over my room to play with his train and watch tv, while I took over his play room for the beautiful morning light lighting and for the greenery backdrop. It was still early, so everything was so calm outside. Who knew you could relax so well in the play room?
Detoxifying Clay Mask by TruSelf Organics
Thank you to TruSelf Organics for sending me these products. This post is sponsored, but all opinions are my own.
After all of my DIYs, and putting on my favorite bougie second hand peacock pajama set, I took out the TruSelf Detoxifying Mask kit and got to work. I really love my DIY beauty hacks. However, sometimes I just need things that are already put together for the most part. The mask was simple to make since it only had 2 parts, but it still made me feel like an alchemist! The mini bamboo mixing bowl and spoon are super cute, and also seemed like serious tools for my spa moment. I’ve done a DIY clay mask before, and it was a bit harsh. The clay immediately seized up and froze my face into position. The ACV (apple cider vinegar) was so strong, and it would all burn a little because of how taught it stretched my skin.
This set was nothing like that. Although it did eventually freeze my face into place, the ingredients are more refined. The ACV is toned down because it is blended with epsom salt and water. The dry clay mask mix includes a blend of different clays, epsom salt, and willow bark extract. After mixing and applying the mask, I let it sit for about 15 minutes. The detoxifying mask is great for fighting blemishes and clearing your pores so that your daily products work even better. Next, I rinsed the dried mask off and wiped my face with the softest towel ever! The TruSelf Organic bamboo towel seriously needs to be in everyone’s skin care toolkit. That is all. Last, I applied the TruSelf Organics Herbal Infused Moisturizer. It is so light and refreshing, and it doesn’t take much to moisturize your face.
