Eco-Inspiration #001
Eco-Inspiration: the things that are inspiring me and piquing my interest this week in the realm of sustainability. July 27 – August 2, 2020.
Unsplash + Sustainability
Unsplash has featured a Sustainability category that is donating money to plant trees for every photo uploaded through August 31, 2020. For those that are unfamiliar, Unsplash is a FREE stock photo website that allows amazingly talented creatives to submit their high quality photos to be used by other creative all over the world – all for free. This is so helpful for bloggers and small business owners who can’t afford to pay for expensive stock photos. I love their site so much! I always recommend it to others. You can follow me on Unsplash if you have an account. My favorite collections that I have curated are the Brown Skin collection and the Eco-Friendly collection.
Renewable Energy for Electricity
I’m learning about more and more brands that are providing sustainably sourced electricity. Recently, I also learned that it can be difficult for new electricity companies that work with renewable energy to enter the marketplace, so it is very refreshing to see that so many are being created despite the red tape that makes it difficult for them.
Seeing Nature Take Over
Seeing nature reclaim itself is both scary and satisfying at the same time. It’s scary that we as humans have done so much to disrupt such a powerful system. It’s wonderful to see that we can never really break it, and when we stop taking from and abusing the land, it can heal itself. Just like Te Fiti from Moana.
Turf Roof
I just learned that grass roofs and turf roofs exist, and that someone has to mow them once a year, and that trees can grow on them. This just makes me happy for some reason lol. That reason is NATURE.

Nice refreshing post! Grass roofs and new energy companies supporting the renewable sources is motivating. I can only hope they become more mainstream every day.
Thanks!

I’m inspired, Addie! I’ve always been interested in finding ways to make my everyday life more sustainable and greener. Another eco-inspiration I recommend are natural cleaners, especially probiotic cleaners. They use good bacteria to clean surfaces. It’s pretty crazy what science can do these days!

Zach TI love using our probiotic cleaner for items that my son uses regularly!
