Fall Family Photos

fall family photos ideasJosh, Greyson, and I took fall family photos with a local McKinney, Texas photographer, Christina White, this past fall. I absolutely LOVE how they turned out! We all wore a mix of thrifted & eco-friendly clothes with our typical fast fashion stuff that we’ve held onto for a while. Christina worked so well with Greyson, and got some gems despite his “are we really doing this, y’all?” attitude. When you work with a photographer for family photos, it is so important that they can bring out the joy in your little ones on the spot and through their edits.

The photos are great for so many different uses. I will be getting some framed for our home. Some have been used on Greyson’s blog for his “Books” section. I am a Barefoot Books Ambassador and we share a book that we love each each week, so the magical photos that Christina captured of him with his books make me so excited!

Do you reuse gift wrap? Here are some things that I’ve thrifted to reuse as gift wrap each holiday season: ⭐️ tablecloths ⭐️ napkins & handkerchiefs (matching napkins sewn together can be used for larger gifts) ⭐️ Scarves (like from @wrappr) ⭐️ Cloth bags (like the ones your sheet sets come in) ⭐️ Pillowcases ⭐️ Curtains (can be used as gift wrap or to cover larger gifts like bikes or toy kitchens) As long as you can fold the fabric into a square before wrapping the gift, it works well when using the furoshiki style wrapping technique. Comment WRAP for a few tips and tricks to wrap gifts in cloth fabric.

This is 36! ✨ They tricked me, and it was everything lol! The dads kept the kids and the moms celebrated me. I’m so grateful for these women right here. I love surprises, every gift was something they know I absolutely love, and A TIME WAS had just eating and singing karaoke in the living room lol. Happy new year to me! 🥰 it’s been amazing bringing it in surround by such a loving community.

A quick little toy clean out and swap for some new toys to place under the tree for Christmas ✅ @usefullco is a sustainable refill shop in Dallas, TX and this weekend they have a table out at their main shop for people to come in and swap toys! The toy swap table will be there through Sunday 11/17/24. Don’t have this in your city? HOST YOUR OWN TOY SWAP! All you need is a location and some parents who want to get rid of some toys (isn’t that ALL OF US? 🥴😂). I’ve hosted clothing and toy swaps with @thisyearelle, @tiyunnaj, @crunchymamadfw, and other friends in the past at my home and in their shop. Social media makes it easy to connect to parents and folks who want to swap. I also plan on reaching out to my local @buynothingproject Facebook group moderators this year to see if we can host a virtual toy swap in a post within our Facebook group. Just set the date, place, and time to make it happen. Spend less, use less resources, and still make the holidays merry & memorable 💚 Have you attended a swap event before?
