You know that time of year in Texas (and other states with crazy weather) where it was winter last night, spring this morning, summer time this afternoon and heading into fall this evening? Well, it is upon us, and my body can’t decide whether to shiver or to sweat. Quite frankly, it’s confusing as heck – but you won’t ever catch me saying “No!” to 70 degree weather in the wee days of the new year. I mean, didn’t the ground hog just say we’re getting more cold days? I’ll take a little sunshine wherever I can get it. I also plan for this “can’t make my mind up” weather and slay it with my style. We can still have the power, ladies, shiver or sweat. Keep scrolling to see what I mean.
Start Small
I got this quilted, sleeveless navy knee-length dress at TJ Maxx for less than $20 this past summer. It is cute on its on when the weather is nice.
Layer
I started layering by adding black tights. I love the black and navy together. Next, I added a scarf to cover my shoulders. Scarves can add so much personality to an outfit. I styled mine in two different ways. It can serve as a way to keep warm in the spring hours of the day, and can be worn loosely or set aside during the summer hours of the day.
Layer Some More
Pull out a nice overcoat for those winter hours.
Strut Your Stuff
The wind claimed my coat and my scarf for a while, but I was still cute! Get your layers on and show this indecisive weather who the bawse is! SLAY!
Dress: TJ Maxx // Scarf: Thrifted // Coat: Vintage, Thrifted // Shoes & Sunglasses: Steve Madden // Jewelry: Thrifted, H&M, old
