Whether you are preparing for a newborn, making the switch to a big kid bed, or upgrading your teen to a new bed, this natural mattress brand has a solution.
Disclosure: I received Naturepedic products in exchange for my honest opinion, which I am sharing with you here. This post also contains affiliate links.
I have told y’all all about Naturepedic Organic Mattresses before. Now Little Boo has his own organic and non-toxic mattress, too! It is important to us as his parents to be mindful of how everything that we bring into our home could potentially impact his health. It’s important for all of us, honestly. But as he is still young and still growing, I don’t want to do anything to potentially harm him. Being able to provide him with a big boy bed that is 100% organic is so tremendous for us. Growing up, my new mattresses were not organic mattresses. I have also slept on mattresses that were far beyond 10 years old. But when you know better, and when you’re able to, you do better.

Mom Approved Natural Mattress for Kids
Did you know that Naturepedic was started as a baby mattress company? The founder couldn’t find a non-toxic mattress for his soon to be grandchild, so he created one! Now they create crib mattresses, mattresses for children and teens, and adult mattresses. So, while Little Boo is only worried about more space for toys, I’m ecstatic that every time I walk into his room, I smell natural scents instead of adhesives and synthetic fibers.
Little Boo’s bed has been a floor bed since we stopped using a crib when he was 2 years old. We chose to do the floor bed method in line with Montessori lifestyle principles. It will remain a floor bed for a while as it is most accessible to him. We will be building a floor frame for him soon, but haven’t decided if it will be a house bed or some other form of floor bed.
The good news is that this mattress works as a floor bed and in traditional beds, so when he is ready for a raised bed frame, it will work just fine! Having a full size bed now that he can grow into as a pre-teen is also very helpful. Their kids mattresses have a 10 year limited warranty, making the investment in an organic mattress more reassuring. Naturepedic offers options for organic waterproof bed protector pads to help protect mattresses during potty training years.
Via the Naturepedic website, here is how they put the health and safety of children who use their products first:
Through in-depth research, Naturepedic has selected the most natural and non-toxic materials that make sense on a practical level. All Naturepedic products follow these principles and priorities:
Priority #1: No harmful chemicals.
Priority #2: Intense focus on safety.
Priority #3: Natural, organic and renewable materials.
Priority #4: Allergy-friendly design.
Priority #5: Practical design
Priority #6: Third party testing and verification.
Why I trust the Naturepedic mattress for my son’s bedding needs:
- The Naturepedic mattress is crafted using organic materials, such as cotton and sugarcane
- The mattress doesn’t use the chemicals that are typically found in new mattresses – NO flame retardants, NO glues, NO adhesives, NO polyurethane foam
- Naturepedic mattresses have gone through and passed testing by certified organic 3rd party organizations, including GOTS Certified, MADE-SAFE Certified, AND UL/GREENGUARD Certified.
- The extensive efforts made, research, and partnerships they form in order to make sure they create a product that will not contribute to the rise in health issues we see in children these days due to exposure to chemicals.
Overall, we absolutely love our Naturepedic mattresses. The larger mattresses are easy to assemble, and the children’s mattress we received came already assembled. They create a pleasant scent in the room, and I can’t stress enough how that is so much bigger than a smell. It is a result of 0 toxins and only 100% organic products being used to create these mattresses.
