Visiting Waco, TX
Our trip to Waco, TX was so amazing! You gotta click over to read about it and see all of the pictures. We stayed in The Morrow House (check that post out, too), and we were able to go explore the city and take a LOT of photos for our blogs. The weather was really nice for early March. The ladies at Plum Boutique (find them on Instagram @plumtique) were so much fun to work with. They brought a lot of items for us to try on and we got to be models for a moment. Their photographer is Laura Lee Washington – check her out on Instagram @lblackburn.
Plum Boutique is located in Spice Village, but even amongst all of the many boutiques there, Plum stands out with it’s dark blue walls and distinct sections of clothes, drawings/art, and home decor. They help support a lot of small businesses by carrying their beautiful items, as well. My favorite thing about the style of the clothes that they carry is that they are intricate and not over the top. The embroidered pieces, like the mauve dress that I wore, was not too gaudy or flashy. The design was reminiscent of Mexican style embroidered pieces, but it gracefully borrowed from it instead of trying to replicate it without evolving it to fit the new trends. And you know the store is good when your entire crew shops there! Brittany found the most delicious smelling candle for her gorgeous home, and Aleshea found a “TX” ball cap, which is fitting since she’s the best Texas blogger around!
Don’t call this photo shoot a come back! (Actually, yes, call it that)
I used to love acting like a model for my blog – that is, until after my pregnancy. It was actually towards the middle and end of my pregnancy that I started to feel less flattering overall. There have been a lot of ways that I lost myself since then, but this photo shoot was truly a moment of feeling like myself again. I felt so confident! The Plum Boutique ladies made me feel beautiful with the clothes and accessories that they provided for the photo shoot and the direction from Laura Lee as she photographed us. The Morrow House provided the perfect backdrop. My Aunti Lil always stresses having a perfect background in photos, and being a blogger has made me even more obsessive about it lol. I didn’t have to worry about backgrounds at The Morrow House because every inch of that house is beautiful!
Now, here we are in our Plum Boutique photo shoot – me, Brittany of Sky, Miles, and Style, and Aleshea of Glitz n’ Grits.

Ps – do something for yourself that makes you feel magical and amazing. This trip and photo shoot definitely did that for me.
