About Rael‘s Reusable Menstrual Products

Rael are the only pads that I’ve tried that are made from organic cotton. They are very dependable reusable pads, and I use them faithfully during each cycle. Rael also partners with Happy Period to help donate period products to women in need. When you use the hashtag #HappyPeriodsForAll on an Instagram post, Rael makes a donation. When you purchase from Rael, you are supporting women of color. This company was started by three women who are originally from South Korea who saw a need for sustainable and safe period care. They definitely filled that need with Rael!

Rael Reusable Menstrual Products Review & Ratings

My Rael Reusable Menstrual Pads Review

Over the past 6 months, I have been reviewing three different brands of reusable cloth menstrual pads. Here are my thoughts about Rael reusable pads:

Pros:
I absolutely love that the pads are made from organic cotton and are non-toxic. The fabrics that we use are so important to our health – especially fabrics that we place near our vulvas. Rael goes above and beyond to ensure their menstrual products are natural, even the disposable products. If you are outside of the United States, Rael may ship to you, as well. Rael’s reusable menstrual products are available in 19 countries across the world.

Cons:
I don’t like the wings! Ahhh! There, I said it. When I used disposable pads, wings were a necessity! However, wings on a cloth pad don’t do well for me. It seems to make leaks leakier instead of holding them in. The leaks go straight through the wing and to the side of the pad, and then come close to staining my underwear. The wing issue isn’t a constant occurrence, but it has happened enough times to make me take note of it.

Another con is that because the pads are light in color, stains stay behind even when they are completely clean. This in no way changes the quality of the product, it is simply cosmetic.

How I Rate The Rael Reusable Menstrual Pads:

Varying Sizes ★★★★★
Ease to Wear★★★★☆
Comfort★★★★☆
Absorbency★★★★★

Ease of Cleaning★★★☆☆

More Rael Menstrual Products:

Rael has a really large range of products for the whole human that help outside of the range of a menstrual cycle, as well.

  • Disposable menstrual products – pads, tampons, and liners that are all made with organic cotton
  • Body care like heating patches, feminine wash and wipes, and organic cotton wipes
  • Himalayan pink salt toothpaste
  • Incontinence pads and liners, both disposable and reusable
  • A full range of skincare products

My period stats:

Here is some information about me. Hopefully it will be helpful when judging if this review of the Bear Necessities cloth pads is helpful for you!

About me:
Height – 5’2″
Weight – 105 pounds
Hip – 34″-35″
General Size – Small to Medium
Preferred Menstrual Products – I only wear pads – I do not wear tampons or menstrual cups. I’m looking forward to trying period underwear.
Flow – Light to Heavy
Changing Frequency – 3-6 times per day
Favorite Aisle Pad – Super Pad for heavy days, Maxi Pad for normal and light days

Final Thoughts on Rael

Overall, I am very pleased with the reusable menstrual products that I have purchased from Rael. The company also goes above and beyond simply selling a product. The women behind the brand thought of the whole woman for each person their products go to. It’s more than pads, y’all. Get your skincare, acne care, toothpaste, and post a picture on IG to help give back. I’m so here for it!

Discarding the top of strawberries has been the norm my entire life. But why?

Eating the tops of strawberries is one tiny sustainable change that didn’t take a lot of effort.

What’s one small eco-conscious change you’ve implemented that made you say “Why didn’t I think of this before?!” 💡✨
