Thrift It! Clique | Personal Style

personal style TI!C - fcbk

The sun has finally shown its favor on the Thrift It! Clique ladies, and we had a great time expressing our personal styles in sunny downtown Dallas.  There was still a chilly breeze, but it didn’t stop the good times from rolling.  If you get a group of thrifty and fashionable ladies together, it is bound to be a great time.  If you’re not thrifting and sharing in this love of thrift yet, you don’t know what you’re missing out on!  And that’s exactly why we’re here – to show you that thrift style is for YOU, too!  Each of us are so unique and different, and we can all find so many different styles to portray with our thrifted closets.  These are just a few of our personal favorites.

My personal style:

My favorite things to thrift are mainly dresses and skirts – both vintage and modern.  Dresses and skirts can be style in so many versatile ways.  You can take one piece and make it casual, professional, hipster, or sporty.  Recently ThredUP contacted me to create a look with clothes from their website.  ThredUP is like an online consignment shop, with gently used clothes from well-recognized brands up to 90% off of their retail prices.  This fun, floral print dress instantly caught my eye!  I have a lot of thrifted floral dresses, but this Blu Moon dress is a modern twist on the vintage style floral dresses that I already have (and can’t seem to get enough of).  It will be great come summer with its low v-cut back, and its spacious enough for my baby belly to grow into.  Since its still cool outside, I paired it with a blazer, which is a great way to turn a casual dress into a business-casual outfit.  See more details on the outfit below.

[…] I really love thredUP for making secondhand fashion accessible and trendy for women and kids. Not only is it a popular brand on the rise, it is a movement with roots in the sustainable community. Their entire purpose is to extend the life of clothes that were once worn and owned by someone else. People send in their lightly used clothes to thredUP in exchange for cash or store credit, and other people buy these items for a much lower price than they would have at retail stores. […]
