Do you follow any thrift or vintage shops on Instagram? Some of my most iconic vintage pieces have been purchased from Instagram shops representing Etsy and online vintage sellers. I love them so much that I’ve even started my own (see it here & on instagram @oldworldnewlifestyle)! I believe that vintage and thrift shop owners being on Instagram is such a great outlet because you get to share beautiful pieces with so many people. For the buyer that lives across the country or across the world from the seller, they can easily buy a timeless piece that they otherwise never would have had access to.
I saw this jumpsuit on a whim from Broadway Vintage‘s instagram earlier in the summer (2015) and immediately went to her Etsy page to purchase it. I knew I couldn’t wear it until the weather cooled down, and I had no clue where I’d wear it (the story of most of my classic vintage finds), but I knew I’d find a way to flaunt it! It is a 1960s navy colored jumpsuit with flared legs and an exaggerated collar with tan and white stripes. It paired well with simple black thrifted heels and gold jewelry that I purchased from Target and Forever 21.
Photographed by Stephanie Drenka a few weeks in advance, I intended to wear this beauty to the Runway Dallas inaugural fashion show (see my interview with the founder here). The rain kept me in, but I’m glad I had it photographed before. It is definitely a show stopper!
