Thrifted Christmas Attire – Vintage Velvet Dress

There’s nothing more fancy than a vintage velvet dress that not everyone else is wearing, right? That’s just one perks shopping at the thrift store for special occasion outfits like this holiday dress!

Everyone knows to go to thrift stores to buy the best and most original “ugly Christmas sweater” for Christmas parties, but you can find elegant Christmas attire in thrift stores, as well. This Christmas Fashion series features both fun sweaters and lavish dresses. First up, this velvet beauty.

Is it a bad thing that I thrift so much that I don’t remember when or where I purchased something, or for how much? Here’s a rundown of the purchase details, though.

Velvet Dress: $3.99 at a DFW area thrift store (the tags were still on) /// Kitten Heels: Liz Claiborne – less than $10 at a DFW area thrift store /// Stockings: retail, less than $10 /// Necklace: Target (old)

If going to the thrift store just isn’t for you, here are some online shopping options:

Visit Poshmark to buy direct from people sharing their second hand closet. Use code BAZAARECLECTIC to get $10 when you sign up!

Visit thredUP to shop a curated selection of, and get $10 to spend when you place your first order!

I love the dress! I don’t thrift shop as much as use to since I moved, but you have definitely motivated me to find some new shops to visit.

That is beautiful! I haven’t gotten into thrifting – I have to get rid of some of the stuff I already have first. But I really do love a deal! My daughter is the queen of hand me downs, if she knew there was a store full of em? Shoot…

Discarding the top of strawberries has been the norm my entire life. But why?

Eating the tops of strawberries is one tiny sustainable change that didn’t take a lot of effort.

What’s one small eco-conscious change you’ve implemented that made you say “Why didn’t I think of this before?!” 💡✨
